Recommended environment for online lessons

Establishment of an environment that supports online lessons

In order to take bridgeyou's online lessons comfortably, please prepare the following equipment and communication environment.

Recommended from the top to the bottom in terms of communication stability and operability.

*Most laptop computers have a built-in microphone and camera, but some models may not. In such cases, an external microphone or webcam can be added.
*With desktop PCs, microphones and cameras are usually sold separately. Please prepare your own accessories if necessary.
*Smart phones can be used, but the small screen may make viewing materials and detailed instruction difficult. Also, please note that there is a large amount of communication (approximately 200-300 MB of communication may be generated per lesson).

Recommended Communication Environment

  • Wired LAN connection (most stable and recommended)

  • Wi-Fi connection (OK if stable)

  • *Reason for recommending wired connection: In video calls such as Zoom, audio and video are exchanged simultaneously, so if communication becomes temporarily unstable, problems such as “not hearing” or “stopping” can easily occur. In particular, if screen sharing during a lesson or the instructor's instructions are interrupted, the learning effect will be reduced, so a wired connection using a LAN cable is recommended if possible.

  • Recent laptop computers may not have a LAN port. In that case, please prepare a “USB ↔ LAN” conversion adapter.

  • Avoid the following communication environments at all costs: Lessons may be disrupted in environments that have limited connectivity or are unstable during busy times, such as pocket Wi-Fi or free public WiFi.

Note

In wireless connections, environments that limit bandwidth such as pocket WiFi or free public WiFi are not suitable for real-time video communication. In online lessons, it is crucial to connect not only audio but also video. In order to keep the communication as smooth as possible, please ensure you are enrolled in an internet plan with sufficient bandwidth.

  • Lessons can be taken from anywhere as long as you have stable Internet connection and a communication device with a microphone and camera.

  • For a smooth lesson experience, the best combination is a laptop and wired LAN connection.

  • If you only have access to a smartphone, you can still take lessons, but please be aware of limitations with bandwidth and screen size.
